HDSL™ Rapid Prototypes from Solid Concepts are built using modified SLA equipment that has been tuned to enable the cost-effective production of .004” (0.102mm) layer models. Typically, SLA concept models are built with .007” (0.178mm) layers, which then requires significant hand finishing in order to produce an acceptable model. The hand finishing step not only adds time and cost to the process, it can also result in feature loss and other distortions. HDSL Rapid Prototypes are superior to traditional concept models as they:
- Provide more resolution
- Have better “out of the machine” finish
- Can be produced in less time
- Have clearly defined features
- Are competitively priced
- Have no hand-finish damage or distortions
- Have smoother side walls
