PolyJet™
PolyJet™ - High precision 3D printing - A layer additive technology with layers as thin as 16 microns (0.0006”)—suitable for excellent appearance models and patterns for advanced urethane castings. |
SLA
SLA - Stereolithography - Produce accurate models from a photopolymer - suitable for form, fit and function testing as well as casting patterns for metal and advanced urethane castings. |
HDSL
HDSL™ Rapid Prototypes from Solid Concepts are built using modified SLA (SLA) equipment that has been tuned to enable the cost-effective production of .004” (0.102mm) layer models.
QuickCast
QuickCast™ is an accurate, consistent, strong, fully drained, completely sealed, pattern that is 10 to 35% lighter than those built with other polymers and ordinary build styles. Lower mass for a given volume leads to significantly higher yield by more complete burnout and lower expansion forces on the shell system. |
SLS
SLS - Selective Laser Sintering - Accurate models from sintered nylon powder - suitable for form, fit and function testing and some low-run production. This technology is ideally suited for DDM (Direct Digital Manufacturing) because of the robust material properties of the base materials.
QuantumCast™ Cast Urethanes
QuantumCast™ - Advanced formula polymers, AFP’s, are cast in a proprietary multi-step process involving precisely controlled vacuum, temperature and
pressure. This process offers mechanical properties that closely resemble engineered plastics. These are void-free, durable, color-matched pieces produced quickly with out hard tooling. Micro-welded inserts are the strongest in the industry. AFP’s are now available with four times the impact strength of the old style urethanes.
CNC
CNC - Machining Centers - Conventional material removal technology to produce a very accurate final model - suitable for tooling, robust first articles, master patterns for QuantumCast™.

Advanced Technology Solar Telescope Passes Preliminary
Design Review Utilizing SLS Scale Models
One of the key benefits of Rapid Prototyping is the identification of design changes early in the process prior to significant investments taking place. In the case of the ATST, the Preliminary Design Review team made a number of helpful suggestions regarding elements of the design, and the project members immediately went to work implementing the recommendations.

Solid Concepts Provides QuantumCast™ Outer Hull
for University Unmanned Underwater Vehicle Project
To produce the housing for their project, team AUVic turned to Solid Concepts and their proprietary QuantumCast™ process. Their requirements for a streamlined housing that would ensure maximum hydrodynamic efficiency and provide a reliable and stable pressure rated environment for the sensitive vehicle electronics posed a unique challenge and the necessity of utilizing the strongest materials available. |
